Celebrating Planned Gifts: The 1891 Society Dinner in Shawnee Park

Back to News & Updates

Once a year, Olmsted Parks Conservancy creates an exclusive park experience like no other for those who have made a planned gift to the parks. The 1891 Society is a special group of donors who have included Olmsted Parks Conservancy in their estate planning.

We believe the best way to celebrate these donors is to immerse them in an evening of our Olmsted Parks’ beauty and history. Our 1891 Society events are pop up dinners in some of the park system’s most notable natural areas. Enhanced by incredible food and our horticulture specialist’s naturally inspired floral designs, the 1891 Society enjoys an evening that reflects our deep gratitude for their support.

This year, the Shawnee Park Riverwalk was the perfect setting for a dinner as exceptional as our donors. The sunset over the sparkling water was emblematic of the magic of the Olmsted Parks, reminding us how special it is to have natural sanctuaries throughout our city.

If you have made provisions in your estate planning for Olmsted Parks Conservancy, please contact Danielle Archer Danielle.archer@olmstedparks.org to ensure that you are included in future celebrations!
