Car Free Cherokee
On the last Sunday of each month, we close Cherokee Park to traffic so park …
Cherokee Park
Music starts at 2:30 on Baringer Hill, where guests can enjoy music from GRAMMY-award winning Noam Pikelny of Punch Brothers with Stuart Duncan, and local artists Plum Hokum and Relic.
Make your way down Beargrass Creek to Rugby Field for craft beer, fare from local food trucks, and activities for all ages – including a “jam tent” for musicians, face-painting, games for kids, and even a Frederick Law Olmsted Beard Contest.
About the Artists:
VIP tickets are available for a $50 (tax-deductible) donation. Your ticket comes with a one-year Olmsted Parks Membership and many day-of perks like an exclusive (shaded) tent with seating, a dedicated bar, private bathrooms, premium seats near the stage, and an amazing limited-edition Cherokee Park t-shirt. Your membership helps keep Cherokee Park and 16 other Olmsted-designed parks across Louisville maintained and beautiful throughout the year. Kids under 12 accompanying VIP ticketholders get in free.
Please note: Scenic loop will be closed to traffic on June 9 for the event. Preferred parking will be on Alexander Road, Cochran Hill, and Eastern Parkway.
Interested in helping with chalk art, parking, setting up and more at the event? Olmsted Parks Conservancy is looking for volunteers! Enjoy the concert before or after you volunteer by choosing one of two shifts: 1-5 PM and 4:30-8:30 PM. Contact Matt Spalding (matt.spalding@olmstedparks.org) for more information or to sign up.
