The Tyler Park Stage is officially OPEN!
We had the honor of commemorating this event with a performance by Bibelhauser Brothers on October 30, 2024. Remarks and a ribbon cutting ceremony featured Olmsted Parks Conservancy President and CEO Layla George, Forecastle Festival founder J.K. McKnight, Councilperson Ben Reno-Weber, Tyler Park Neighborhood Association President Helene Kramer Longton, Olmsted Parks Conservancy Project Director Jason Hindenach and stage project manager Wilson Ethington.
More than 400 people attended the inaugural concert and enjoyed food and drink from local food trucks. We are excited to see what artists and performances are to come, and hope that the stage is the perfect home for the Tyler Park Jazz Festival.
The stage is the last capital improvement of the Tyler Park Restoration Plan that was initiated in 2018. Olmsted Parks Conservancy and Louisville Parks and Recreation have invested almost $2 million in the park since 2018. Improvements include renovated tennis courts and bathrooms and a new playground, sprayground and pickleball courts.
This concert was funded in part by the Tyler Park Neighborhood Association.
